SKU: 0001

The dental implant is a screw made of highly resistant material (titanium or zirconium) that is inserted into the jawbone in order to replace the natural tooth. As it has similar properties to the the dental root, this makes it the perfect solution both functionally and esthetically.

Description

General information

Having an exquisite dental implant has many advantages like:

  • Being able to chew, talk, and smile
  • Eliminating the necessity of treating surrounding teeth, they do not need to be polished or devitalized
  • Resistance over the years, the implanted teeth can resist a lifetime if properly taken care off

The stages of the treatment

The consultation

It is the first step identifying the illness of the patient. After the clinic evaluation, the stomatologist establishes a diagnosis and a treatment plan. The medical evaluation takes place in the dental office. The patient is evaluated taking into consideration the state of his teeth, but also of the general heath state and taking into account his wishes.

During the examination, the stomatologist will evaluate the available space to insert the dental arcade, the gums and the teeth state of health.

Other medical check-ups are needed, involving more complex medical evaluations like a general panoramic X-ray of all dentition or even a mouth TC that offers a tri-dimensional image of the dental and bone structures of the jaws.

After gathering all information needed for establishing the treatment, the patient finds out what the options of treatment are, the costs, the treatment duration and the advantages and disadvantages of each procedure.

We want to offer each patient a personalized and unique plan of treatment that meets his expectations and needs.

The surgical stage

This stage involved the insertion of the implant into the bone tissues. Some cases request bone augmentation if the bone does not have an optimum size that ensures a complete success of the dental implant.

This stage requires in most cases, a gum replacement to cover the area exposed at the root of the implant. Gum remodelling has the advantage of offering symmetry to the gums and a very beautiful smile.

A week after the intervention the sutures are removed. The time for implant integration into the bone lasts approximatively three months for the lower jaw and between 4-6 months for the upper jaw.

The prosthetic stage

The prosthetic stage is the final one. The dental crown is being done and some measurements are done for personalising the final work. Then it is cemented onto the implant. This last step is made after a month from the healing.

Taking care of the dental implant

The success of the treatment depends very much on attending the dental appointments every 6 months and the oral hygiene program explained by the stomatologist.

FAQ

Is dental extraction and dental implant possible the same day?

Yes, it is possible, but in rare cases established in advance with the stomatologist. In these cases the implant is placed in a position very similar to that of the extracted root, offering a functional and aesthetic advantage.

How much time do I have to wait for the final prosthetics?

The implant integration in the lower jaw takes up to three months and between 4 to 6 months for the upper jaw. A final decision is to be made by the medical staff.

How much does an implant last?

Around 95% of the implants are successfully finished, and this percentage increases of they are properly cared for.

De la ce vârstă poate o persoană să beneficieze de acest tratament?

For the young patients, the implants can be done after the growth period is over, around 18 years old. There is no other age limit; the only condition is for the patient to be health so that his body would accept the implants.

Why is smoking a risk factor?

Smoking reduces the life cycle of a dental implant because it alters the blood circulation in the gum area. Nicotine shrinks the blood vessels and influences the blood clotting time.

Our doctors advise you to quit smoking for good. Ideally the patient should quit smoking a month before the surgery and at least two months after, for those who cannot give up smoking for ever.

What is the sinus lift surgery?

It is a surgery of augmenting the bone mass in the posterior part of the upper jaw. Some patients do not have a very dense bone that could accommodate an implant and they need bone tissues to be added to their jaw. It means that under the membrane of the jaw, sinus artificial bone is added, to ensure the right density of the bone.
